A coenzyme in every cell. An honest conversation about it.
NAD+ matters to how cells make energy and repair themselves. Whether adding more helps you is a real medical question. Talk it through with an independent licensed medical provider, without hype.

The science, plainly
What NAD+ does, and what nobody has proven.
NAD+ is a coenzyme: a helper molecule that enzymes need in order to work. Two of its best-understood jobs are moving energy through the cell's metabolism and fueling enzymes that take part in DNA repair.
Those are facts about biology. They are not proof that taking NAD+ makes a person feel better, think more clearly, or age more slowly. Studies in people are still limited, and results so far do not justify promises.
Well established
Role in cellular energy metabolism and as a substrate for DNA-repair-related enzymes.
Still open
Whether supplementation improves symptoms, cognition or markers of aging in people.
Four things people ask about, each with its limits.
01
Energy
What we knowNAD+ takes part in the reactions cells use to turn food into usable energy.
What we do notWhether raising NAD+ levels changes how energetic a person feels has not been established in large human trials.
02
Cognitive clarity
What we knowBrain cells depend on steady energy metabolism, and NAD+ is part of that machinery.
What we do notEvidence that NAD+ treatment sharpens thinking or memory in people is preliminary.
03
Cellular repair
What we knowEnzymes involved in DNA repair use NAD+ as a required ingredient in laboratory settings.
What we do notLab pathways do not show that supplementing produces more repair, or better health, in a living person.
04
Healthy aging
What we knowNAD+ levels appear to fall with age in some tissues, which is why researchers study it.
What we do notNo evidence shows NAD+ therapy slows or reverses aging. We will not suggest otherwise.
NAD+ research, without the hype
What researchers know—and what remains open.
NAD+ has important roles in cell biology. Whether increasing it through a treatment improves how people feel or changes long-term health is a separate question, and current human research does not support promises of anti-aging results.
Its role in cells
NAD+ is a coenzyme for redox reactions that support cellular energy metabolism. It is also used by enzymes involved in signaling and DNA-repair processes. These are biological functions; they do not establish that a therapy repairs a person’s DNA or produces a clinical benefit.
Age and human evidence
NAD+ changes have been reported with age in some tissues, but a 2025 review found consistent evidence of an age-related decline in humans in only a limited number of studies. Animal findings cannot be assumed to predict results in people.
NR, NMN, and outcomes
Nicotinamide riboside (NR) and nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) are studied as NAD+ precursors. Human studies have examined NAD-related measures, but evidence that these compounds improve energy, cognition, longevity, or other patient outcomes remains limited.
Safety and product quality
The FDA has warned compounders that food-grade NAD+ is not suitable for sterile injectable products without appropriate processing. The agency has received reports of chills, shaking, vomiting, and fatigue after NAD+ injections consistent with excessive endotoxin levels. This warning concerns ingredient and sterile-compounding safety; it is not a finding about every NAD+ product or route.
Questions to ask a licensed provider
What form of NAD+ or related product are you discussing, and why?
What human evidence supports it for the goal I have?
What risks, product-quality checks, and alternatives should I understand?
Is it available for me in my state, and what is the full cost?
Choose a slot on the scheduler or call us. Mention NAD+ so we route you correctly.
2
Talk with a provider
An independent licensed medical provider reviews your history, medications and goals by video or phone.
3
Eligibility decision
The provider evaluates you individually and makes any treatment and prescribing decisions, including whether care can be offered in your state.
4
Plan and follow-up
If care is offered, the provider explains the plan. Follow-up check-ins, if available for your plan, will be explained by the clinic; confirm what is included before starting.
The wider network
Medical weight management through affiliated clinics.
The Trim Clinic Network also connects eligible patients with medically supervised weight-management care. Affiliated programs may include semaglutide or tirzepatide when prescribed and medically appropriate. A licensed provider confirms eligibility and service availability for your state.
Weight-management programs start at $149. No membership fees ever. Ask the clinic what is included and confirm any medication costs before starting. When prescribed, medication may be shipped directly to eligible patients.

A note from the founder
Why I started South Florida Trim Clinic.
My childhood friend Peter struggled with his weight and passed away young. I don’t claim to know the cause of his death, and I won’t speculate.
In my fifties, I struggled with my own weight and mobility. Medical weight-management care helped me personally; that experience is mine, not a promise about anyone else.
I was frustrated by treatment delays and membership fees. I founded South Florida Trim Clinic to offer a telehealth-first path to a conversation about care. No membership fees ever.
The Trim Clinic is the network’s NAD+ telehealth site, affiliated with South Florida Trim Clinic—not a separate physical practice. Independent licensed medical providers evaluate each patient individually and make treatment and prescribing decisions.
We have not collected NAD+ patient stories. When patients choose to share their experience, we will publish approved stories here, with permission. Until then we will not invent any.
For context on affiliate care, you can read South Florida Trim Clinic's reviews. These are reviews of that clinic's care and are not NAD+ results.
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme found in every living cell. It helps carry electrons in energy metabolism and is used by enzymes involved in DNA repair and cell signaling.
No. Its biological roles are well described, but they do not prove that supplementation reverses or slows aging. Human treatment evidence is limited, and we do not promise outcomes.
Some people report changes and others notice nothing. Controlled evidence for energy or cognition benefits in people is limited, so a provider will set realistic expectations with you.
We make no claim of FDA approval for NAD+ as a treatment for any condition. Your provider can explain how it is regulated and what that means for you.

Availability depends on where you live and on your provider. It is confirmed during the consultation, and we do not offer blanket nationwide service.
The scheduler is shared with the existing clinic team at South Florida Trim Clinic, which we are affiliated with. Please mention NAD+ when you book.

Nicotinamide riboside (NR) and nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) are compounds studied as NAD+ precursors. A change in an NAD-related blood marker does not by itself show that a person will feel better or live longer.
A 2025 review found that evidence for age-related NAD+ declines in humans is limited and that clinical trials of NAD+ precursors have shown limited efficacy. More human research is needed; findings in animals do not establish benefits in people.
Ask what form is being discussed, what human evidence supports it for your goal, what is known about risks and product quality, whether it is available in your state, and what the full cost would be. The FDA has issued a specific warning about ingredients used to compound sterile NAD+ injectables.
Ask the question to someone qualified to answer it.
